Hi-

First time poster long time lurker.

I have an iPhone X running 12.3.1 with a Nike AW3 with cellular running watchOS 5.2.1.

With or without the phone, I am able to record distance during runs and walks using the native Activity app. It works well. What’s weird is that for the last two weeks, all bike rides have been unable to find a GPS and all I get is a calorie guess based on heart rate.

What I’ve tried: unpaired and re-paired the watch from the phone. Toggled Location Services off and on. Toggled off and on Background App Refresh (even toggled Activity off/on) within the Watch app.

Any thoughts? It’s a great device except this is a recent hiccup. TIA.

If you haven't, reboot both phone and watch (you probably have, but just in case...) and make sure you're updated to iOS 12.4 and watchOS 5.3.

Otherwise, make sure all your health data is synced to iCloud, then wipe the watch and set up as new (instead of restoring from backup). A pain in the butt, but may be your last option given what you've tried.
