I've had my 42mm AW3 non-LTE for a week or two and I must say that I'm pretty disappointed in the GPS on the watch. I have a few routes that I regularly run over lunch at work that are between 4.25 and 4.60 miles - verified by www.gmap-pedometer.com and my iPhone (using the Runtastic Pro app) and. My phone has NEVER varied by more than 0.03 miles total at the end of each run over the last 3 years. The routes go through newer neighborhoods so there is no tree cover to obstruct the GPS signal.

So far, I've tried 3 different apps for the AW3 - Runtastic, Nike Run Club and the built in workout app. Here are the results:

iPhone AW3 App Used %Error
4.23 4.79 (Runtastic on AW3) +13.3%
4.26 5.12 (Nike Run Club) +20.2%
4.58 4.94 (Nike Run Club) + 7.9%
4.60 5.32 (Built In Activity App) +15.7%

I could probably live with a 3 to 5 percent discrepancy, but this is a little ridiculous.

Is it possible that the actual arm swing distance is added in when calculating the distances? Is there a way to calibrate the GPS in the watch? I've had the Privacy -> Location Services -> System Services -> Motion Calibration & Distance turned on since the first bad reading.
