My wifes AW3 drops it's connection to her phone regularly within a few hours.

A restart of either device usually fixes it, but that isn't sustainable IMHO as it shouldn't be doing it and was fine for the past few months since we got the watch in November.

The phone is a 6S, both devices have the latest updates.

We did an unpair and re-pair - no difference
Did a network reset on the iPhone 6s - no difference
Did a full reset and set up as a new phone on the 6s - no difference.

We've spoken to Apple support, they suggested pairing the watch to another iPhone, which we did and that was fine for all of Sunday. They ran remote diags on both the watch and the phone and found no issues.

Anyone got any other suggestions of things to try before we have to send the phone off to Apple?

Thanks,

Greg

Could you further explain what you mean by "drops it's connection"?

For example: Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, one or both and what does the watch's control center show as the status in the top left of the control center screen. Also what does the Bluetooth setting on the paired iPhone show as to a current state of the connection when you lose the connection?

While restarting either device might fix it, have you tried something less dramatic like toggling Airplane mode On/Off or just toggling Bluetooth Off/On?

By drop I mean it completely loses the connection to the phone, both show disconnected. Toggling Bluetooth on/off doesn’t work neither does airplane mode on/off.

She gets a green rectangle with a line through it on the watch.

She can't remember!! but I suspect red rectangle. The watch battery has gone after < 10 hours use today.

Very odd indeed. Just to clarify, you should be using Settings to toggle Bluetooth Off/On and not the iPhone Control center. The reason not to use the iPhone Control center is that those toggles just drop the active Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connection and don't power Off/On the actual radio(s).

Has your wife added any new third party apps to her iPhone / Watch recently? There are a few reports here on the forum concerning some third party apps causing issues with the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections between the iPhone and watch.

She's not added any new apps, and we reset the iPhone as "new" and also did the same on the watch so no apps were on there!!
