Hi, pretty hard for me to get through a full day on a full battery nowdays and was thinking of getting an out of warranty replacement ($79). My battery health is at 83%.

I don't really want to replace my S5 SS quite yet as its still a great watch.

Has anyone done this? Is it as easy as me going to the apple store and they will swap it out on the spot and give me my watch back?

Should i be worried about the water resistance not working as well? I'm assuming they don't give you any type of warranty afterwords.

I own an S5 Titanium and it's only at 81%, I did drop it off at the apple store and they sent it in and they did leave clear comments about how I am only 1% off, to see if they can replace it. I do have apple care +. In the case of the op, if you pay the 79.00 they will take your current watch and give you a replacement and it will be a refurbished one since currently, they do not replace parts inside of the watch.

“Generally speaking” they’ll do a paid repair regardless of the capacity; the 80% is the threshold for warranty or AppleCare+ covered repairs. But as others said, it has to be sent in - not done onsite at any retail stores.

I just replaced the battery in my son’s Series 4. We went to the Apple Store and they ran some tests on the watch and kept it. A few days later a brand new watch was delivered to our door. They kept the old watch. Now the battery lasts a day and a half! Well worth $79. Especially if you have an aluminum watch with a scratched up screen.

I think there is a 3 month warranty.

My AW 5 is at 75% battery health (I’m a bit surprised it was this low) but I think I’ll be getting an AW8 this fall and perhaps just use the 5 for sleep tracking and thus, save the battery replacement cost.

Otherwise, I’d go for the battery replacement, no question.
