My AW5, set to always on display, will go black when the watch is turned down (the always on position), and when I turn my wrist up, it asks for my password as though I had taken it off my wrist.

I do hard restarts and it doesn’t seem to help.

Anyone experience the same?

how tight is your band?
if it's too loose, the watch can think it's not on your arm.

you might also want to give the back of the watch a look to see if anything looks damaged, and give it a clean

its pretty tight. And I take it off and clean the underside, but still have the same problem.

Such a relative hassle. Although I may have to. I still feel as though it should just work.
Yes, it should work. However, it appears your watch is not being recognized on a repeated basis. Seeing how a hard reset did not resolve the problem, a re-pairing is in order. If that doesn’t resolve, you could have a hardware problem.

Thanks. I guess I’ll figure it out.
