AW5 - OOS Everywhere

Hi Forum;

I hope I don't embarrass myself here.

With the launch of the AW6/AWSE I've finally decided to pull the trigger and get an Apple Watch. On balance I think a new AW5 will be "just fine" for me - assuming they are selling them not at full freight price. However my searching is not finding anything... all AW5 watches seems to be gone everywhere, not just Apple. Amazon, BestBuy, B&H... I can't fins any AW 5 in stock. Did this happen to the AW5 when the AW 5 came out?

Maybe I missed the window and needed to pull the trigger on launch day. If that is the case so be it... I'll just accept my situation and do the SE. (I like the idea of the AW6 but think I'd rather have the resell value of an SE with GPS+Cellualr than an AW6 that is just GPS.)

Pretty common, Apple tends not to keep old models at retailers from what I’ve seen. There’ll be exceptions but generally the above seems to be true.

I’d suggest either buying used from Swappa.com or buy refurb from Apple. https://www.apple.com/shop/refurbished/watch/apple-watch-series-5

Walmart is still selling them, I believe, but the only model still in stock is the Gold with Pink Sand Sport Band.

Best Buy looks to be selling a few models, but not at reduced price.

Thanks... I’ll look into refurbs. Not ideal, but might be worth it.

FYI Apple refurbs are indistinguishable from new, and come with same warranty as new. I’ve bought tons of Apple refurbs and never regretted it.
