AW5 vs AW6 Battery Life

Haven‘t seen much on this yet, and I know it hasn’t been out too long... anyone have a feel for battery life? I know it charges quicker, but my wife’s biggest challenge with the AW5 is the battery life. They are predicting about the same, but wanted to see if there was any real world feel for it yet before I commit to the AW6.

Too soon to say for sure but I’m experiencing a slightly better battery life today (Day 2) with series 6 then series 5 with all settings on (noise, Siri, etc). Series 5 I turned all off but AOD. I anticipate seeing better battery life due to chip improvement and optimization with software.

Day 1 - My S6 drained at 4.6% per hour.

Day 2 - Draining at 2.1% per hour

I can’t compare directly vs my S5 anymore but as of Day 2, the S6 seems better.

Charge speeds are certainly faster. The watch can charge from dead to 50% in a half hour.

So far I’m getting worse battery life than with my Series 5. But there could be a number of factors causing that. New watch so it might still be performing background tasks and I’m likely using it more often because it’s new. Also watchOS 7 might be having an impact. And I have all of the blood oxygen features turned on and used it manually several times in the last day.

Day 1: 40% left after 15 hrs, 90 min outdoor walk recorded
