Maybe I never noticed this but when I look at my AW6 with "always on" screen the time doesn't move until I actually move my wrist. Example, I just looked at watch as my arm was "resting" and it said 11PM but when I LIFTED my arm it jumpted to the current time which was 11:10PM. What good is "always on" if it's "always wrong" ? Am I missing some sort of new setting in Watch OS 8 ?

I have exactly the same issue and it seems to happen with any of the three faces I use.

Also, I noticed that when I’m using the digital time face, whereas before the seconds used to disappear when the face was in ‘dimmed, always on’ mode, now the seconds remain visible and are frozen until I raise my arm, at which point the display brightens and the time jumps to the correct time.

This definitely feels like a bug as it pretty much makes ‘always on’ pointless! And it only seems to have occurred since I paired with my iPhone 13 delivered yesterday.

[EDIT - I turned my watch off and back on again and problem solved  Probably the first time it’s been turned off in 3 months. Hope this works for you too …]

Wasn’t this an issue with WatchOS7 too?

It wasn't an issue for me, just started happening since upgrading to OS8. I'll glance at the watch and the hand will be several minutes behind, and then make a noticably big jump to the correct time on raise.

I've also noticed the Always-On screen on my S6 now turns off at random times, it still wakes up when I raise the watch, but it's supposed to be Always-On with a 1Hz refresh rate.

Maybe Apple made the power management a lot more aggressive in OS8?

Also a sidebar, not a fan of how many of the icons and text have gotten bigger in OS8. All the screens look a little more cluttered now.
