These are not clearing on my watch. I read the email on my phone and it stays on the watch for hours, until I get OCD and clear them.

It is happening with Gmail.

Just wondering if anyone else is having this issue.

You mean Gmail app notifications ? Its the app responsibility to clear them once they are no longer relevant but since Gmail app doesnt have a standalone Watch app it probably has no means to do so. You can disable mirroring notifications from Gmail app if it bothers you so much. I personally found email notifications on the Watch useless and annoying, there are too many of them and no way to filter what triggers notification and what doesnt.

I use the default Mail app.

They are still in my watch from yesterday.

With default Mail it should definitely work and remove notifications on the Watch if you read or delete them on iPhone. In fact I have just tried that and it works fine here, clears immediately. In the Watch app I set Mail notifications to mirror my iPhone and everything else is default. Perhaps you are having some Watch/iPhone connectivity problems for the Mail app. Try launching Mail on the Watch just to see it works and can access your Gmail account. Other than that I cant think of anything else apart from restarting both iPhone and Watch to see if that would help somehow.
