AW8 unable to update to OS10

AW8 unable to update to OS10, after sitting forever with estimating time remaining - get software update failed - an error occurred downloading the latest version of watchOS on your Apple Watch.
Now we have gone through everything. Cleared data (have over 11G free), powered off/on and did the unpair / pair. Still will not update to OS10. Has anyone else had issues updating?

try doing it on a different wifi network.
Also you can try doing it directly on the watch.

Make sure phone and watch are both connected to wifi, and are on the same wifi network. Temporarily turning off Bluetooth often makes downloading quicker, so I'll do that too if I'm in a hurry.

Basic advice: does your iPhone have iOS 17? Otherwise you simply can’t update.

Forgot to add that there is an AW4 that updated just fine. The AW4 takes every update with no issues

Update, just wanted to let everyone know that the OS10 update and the OS 10.0.1 update both loaded to the watch via auto updates. Go figure, just took forever to finally load. Thanks for the suggestions
