Awake / sleep from Usb ext. ssd

Hey,
Who can explain to me how the following works:

When using a remote Boot disk to boot Mac OS.
(in to a dockstation usb3 uasp)

How about hibernation and standby?
Is that the same as with the internal drive?
Or shall the external drive disconnect?

And suggest that the dock where sdd is also bringing itself into sleep mode.
Can I expect problems?
