Hey guys,

In work we use PCs and I've saved some files as RTF format and I've emailed them to myself to work on at home. Thing is, TextEdit doesn't hold all the formatting for some reason. Can anyone suggest an awesome word processor that would show all the formatting, just the way I typed it on Microsoft Word? I've heard that Open Office is good, but I don't really want to install X11 as I probably would never use it for anything else.

If you don't want to mess around with X11 and Open Office you can use Neo Office which is a native version of Open Office. I use it a lot, very rarely look at Microsoft Office now.

NeoOffice is a port of OpenOffice for OS X; It's pretty decent. For my word processing however, I use Pages.

If you're looking for a code editor (syntax hilighting, etc) I use TextMate, which is a pretty polished piece of shareware.
