Does anybody with an Apple Watch Ultra 2 notice that the digital crown scrolls extremely "loosely," with seemingly no resistance? It doesn't wobble per se, but just scrolls loosely. Even pressing it causes it to rotate a bit. The function seems fine, no issues there.

I upgraded from a Series 7 and although I remember that digital crown scrolling easily, I do not remember it being this "loose...perhaps with a little more "resistance."

Mine is pretty loose too, but it still remains accurate when scrolling. It's definitely looser than previous years but I'm not sure if it's a problem or not.

Thanks for the quick reply. Mine certainly scrolls more loosely than my S7 did, but no functional issues, and I've turned the haptic feedback up to "prominent" to give more of the illusion of a ratcheting effect. It's more annoying than anything, trying to press the crown and feeling it scroll forward a bit.

Yup looser than the ultra 1. I don’t think it is an issue.
Yeah, I went and compared a couple of display models and they both seemed loose as well. I suppose it's just the design of this year's model (or the first "batch" were produced this way and QC in later units will change).

testing this I noticed alerts are longer stretching but I cant tell that hectic wheel is any different. it feels annoying actually. default feels better and quicker

I believe the ultimate function of the "prominent" haptic feedback is to ensure that individuals using their watch in silent mode don't miss notifications. To me it seems as if it's a little stronger with an additional 2nd "pulse." The scroll wheel haptics seem marginally more pronounced, but that could all be in my head (along with the voices).

Are you also noticing that your digital crown spins more freely, with less resistance than previous models?

yes it spins more free but most of my interactions wiht watch are screen scrolls. I dont mind. im too happy with the ultra 2. I was about to abandon smart watches altogether but decided to try the ultra. My main reason is I usually glimpse at watch to see things or to take a note and I find the phone triggers bad time wasting habits so ive been leaving phone behind on desk but then miss calls. I was annoyed by the daily charging of watches and found its just another task I have to do.

The Ultra 2 has resistance similar to normal Apple Watches. The Ultra 1 was a little too tight. I prefer the normal digital crown resistance that makes scrolling much easier.

Agreed that I'd rather have easier scrolling, rather than a digital crown that's too tight. That being said, the AWU 2 seems to scroll a little too loose. Lesser of 2 evils, I guess 🤷‍♂️

I, too, use the touch screen more than the digital crown to scroll. This watch is a vast improvement over the series 7 I had, especially once you get used to the overall size.
