Earlier this week whilst out for a run I fell into a hole in the pavement whose barrier was missing.
I ended up with cuts and grazes to knees, chest, elbows and hands as well a numerous bruises.
My t-shirt was torn and with all the blood I looked a bit of a state.
My Apple Watch Ultra came through it unscathed though, so it’s obviously tougher than me!!😂🤦🏻

The utility company are looking into why the barriers were missing (wind from storm or vandalism) and I’m waiting to meet with their health and safety manager.
I’m healing up, just a bit sore. Just wish I was as tough as my watch!!😂😂⌚️

I am glad you were not badly hurt. Did the fall alert go off?
Thanks nothing that won't heal thankfully.
As for fall detection, I did not have it enabled.
To be fair I was only 0.5 mile from home so limped home and got my wife to help clean me up!

That's quite negligent of the utility company and really opens them to liability. Glad you've suffered no long lasting injury.

As to the AW, I've lost faith in its fall detection as a couple weeks ago I was working out on my treadmill when the power went out. The unexpected stop threw me backwards and I fell and hit my head. Luckily no injuries but my AW ignored the fall and I do have fall detection on. I've reported that incident to Apple as the watch should have detected that very hard fall.
