I've been using Azureus 2.5 since it come out (and earlier versions), but have not upgraded to 3.0, since I keep seeing claims that 3.0 is worse than 2.5.

I'm happy with 2.5, no real complaints, but curious about 3.0... what does 3.0 do for me?

Anybody with experience of both - can you tell me what the deal is? Is it worth upgrading to 3.0 from 2.5? TIA!

Well 3.x is just 2 with a content browser added on. I can't say I've had any real problems with either version. All of the plugins still work and that is all I care about.

I'd really love a client that was let bloat but included stuff like safepeer and speed scheduling. Oh well maybe one day...

Don't upgrade. 3.0 is just bloat IMO. It does nothing more than 2.5 when it comes to just torrenting.

Wow, and I always thought 2.5 was a bloated piece of crap (lots of great features, don't get me wrong, but a HUGE resource hog). If people are saying that about 3.0, I'm definitely not going to bother.

Azureus is, and always has been more bloated than other clients. However, its feature set is above and beyond what any other client out there has.
