B&N Adds Google Play to Nook HD and HD+

I guess not much interest here yet but I did the update, installed an alternate launcher, added widgets and wallpaper.

It is like a whole new tablet.
 
It's about damn time. B&N were idiots for not doing so earlier. They aren't big enough to curate their own marketplace for locked Android devices. Everyone I know that owns a Nook rooted it specifically for this purpose.

I agree, if they had done this from the beginning I believe they would have a much larger market share.

They had an in-store special on the HD+, $149 for the 8Gig and $179 for the 16 Gig, last month.

It went from a great deal to now an awesome deal with Google Play added

Was going to update mine to use just regular Android, but can afford to wait now until 4.2 is available for HD+

Maybe there's going to be permanent price drops?
 
A permanent sale I suppose if they find they still are not selling. They still have stock from xmas to sell. They did not even get more in since then that is how bad it was at my local store.
