b&w a7 compatible with late 2013 rmbp?

For those of you that has a b&w a7 and don't have an iPhone, does the a7 work with late 2013 rmbp? I want it to work wirelessly over airplay just like a bluetooth speaker (not limited to iTunes). Also, is there a lag between when I click "play" and when the speaker actually starts playing the music?

Please help, much appreciated.

Airplay works the same for Macs as it does iOS devices, so I don't see why this would be an issue.
