Hi All,

I have bought a Microsoft Bluetooth notebook Mouse 5000 for my Mac Book Pro, the mouse paired with my macbook with no problems however the back button on the mouse does not work with Safari or Firefox.

I've had a look at the Microsoft hardware site and cannot find specific drivers for the mouse - does anyone else have the back button working ??

Well you should be able to find drivers on Microsoft.com, if not you're out of luck.

Note that though they may not be very good, the ones for my Comfort Optical 5000 were so bad I uninstalled them and lost the use of the extra button.

The back button works, but you have to redefine it. Assign a keystroke cmd + left arrow

Best thing to use to get extra mouse buttons to work on OS X is SteerMouse. I use it at work (demo) and it works perfectly with my 8-button Logitech mouse (can't remember model ATM). Sadly you do need to pay for the full version, but if you use a 4+ button mouse, its well worth it.
