Hey guys, just wondering how much effect a back cover has on normal heat dissipation on the iPad? I'd like to get one for mine and want to be sure it doesn't adversely affect it since the new iPad runs slightly warmer than previous models.

I didn't have one on my original iPad so I have no experience with back covers. I know that Apple doesn't like them and is why you won't find any for sale at the Apple Store.

I'm mainly after the extra bit of protection as well as giving it some extra grip.

I'm looking at the Incipio Smart Feather or Belkin Snap Shield and similar types.

Thanks for your input! :)

I dont think it will have an adverse affect on heat dissipation. I kept mine in a zip up pouch while charging overnight and it didn't feel hot, only slightly warm.
