Type

cat /usr/share/calendar/* | grep `date +"%m/%d"`

Into the terminal window and you'll get the same historical information. replace %m and %d with two digit month/day and you'll get it for whatever day you want.

You can just use the Finder. Go>Go to Folder...>/usr/share/calendar

Seems to be a part of FreeBSD.
