Just received my new iPad Air 2 (gold). Very disappointed with the back of the iPad. Instead of a full gold back, there is an ugly white strip at the top that runs 3/4" from either side. The white wraps over the top from the front.

My current iPad Air does not have this "feature." Apple doesn't provide any real photos of the back on their website.

Does anyone else think this is ugly?

I think that sounds like the cellular version. The wifi only one has a gold back all over.

That would be where the wireless antenna is for the cellular data model
A case will cover it.

It's there for the cellular. Wifi models don't have it . They did show it for the cellular model I think somewhere

You must have ordered the cellular version as this sounds like the area where the cellular antenna is located.

You think it is ugly?
