Hi, i don't know where to post this, so general discussion is a good bet.
I've been thinking of buying a mac for a while, and i have decided to buy soon. I want to buy a MacBook Pro, but only when they bring out a new model. I am eligible for a student discount, and was wondering how the back to school deal works? I live in the UK, so GBP prices are prefered!

this is how i think that it works:

Mac Mini -- iPod Shuffle
Macbook/iMac 20" -- iPod Nano
Macbook Pro/ iMac -- iPod Classic

are the price discounts still applied?
Can you ask for an extra refund instead of the product?

thanks

you really dont get anything free, you get a $300 rebate in which you can use to buy the ipod touch or get it off the total bill

Last year you got upto a $300 rebate on an iPod touch (when the cheapest model was $300). I think you could have gotten a nano as well, but you'd only get a rebate equal to the cost of the nano.

Not really, at least not in the US last year.
No matter which MAC you got you got the same free item(though you could chose a lower priced item, though I don't know why anyone would).

The mini has never, at least to my knowledge been eligible for the free item.

This may be different in the UK, but I doubt it.
