From the Terms and Conditions:
That works as long as the institute you are attending provides a student IDhow about if you have been out of high school for 10 years and have recentally decided to go back to school? im planning on going for a meterology degree.
The discount is weird. I got my MBP in store and got the student discount. I had no proof that I was going to college and didn't even mention the discount. The salesmen just gave me the discount.
Even when I was online and I was about to order one, nowhere did it make me provide proof of enrollment or anything like that.
I heard its a random check has anyone ever been checked if they ordered from online store?
They would check with the school, not the buyer so they wouldn't know unless they got turned down for the discount.
how would they check if you do not give a name?
If you buy it online, you would have give a name with your credit card.
Last year, I paid by debit card and just provided an acceptance letter.
wat if its your perants credit card
I called in and gave them all my information. The gal asked if I was in school, I said no, but was considering going back. She gave me the school special...free printer and iPod Touch. I don't think it's really that big of a deal. It pretty much sounded like from what she said, Apple will give these discounts to anybody whether or not one is in school, it doesn't matter.
From your original question it sounds like you're a high school, which means you don't qualify for the discount. Therefore, all these extras queries are just you wondering you can circumvent the requirement. Mac Rumors doesn't condone this type of discussion.
