Back to school promo - Mac + iPod afterwards

I got my new MacBook less than two weeks ago. Can I use the upcoming Back to school offer and get the iPod afterwards? (I bought my MacBook with EDU discount.)
 
I'm not sure, but I would think that you can only take advantage of the offer when it's announced.

I'm at work at the mo and don't have iTunes to be able to go to the store and check the details of the offer. I'd suggest trying to find details there.
 
call up apple and see what they say.

They generally seem to be pretty good with this kind of stuff.
 
Technically the rebate form says that the products must be purchased from June 5th to Sept. 16th and be on the same sales reciept. But it is definitely worth a phone call.
 
The Back to School FAQ at Apple's site has the following question:

If I buy my Mac at the Apple online store before the promotion announcement, can I return it so that I can repurchase with a qualifying iPod to participate in the promotion?
No. The qualifying products must have been originally purchased on the same day, between June 5, 2006 and September 16, 2006.

So that probably answers my question. Though the expression originally purchased on the same day is confusing... Well, I should probably call and ask.
 
ADC Discount = No Back to School Promotion

I just called the promotions center, people buying from the ADC website are not able to receive the free ipod nano :mad:
 
I wonder if you can use this for a refurb mac and a refurb ipod. I know the ED. discount doesn't apply for refurb items but if you buy them through your School's Apple Store for Education Individuals it should work (I think). I didn't see where it said refurbs are not eligible.

I'm cheap folks. Dont mind me...
