Back to school promotion - expiry date

Hi guys, I went to the apple store on Friday September 21st (last day of back to school promo) and was told I couldn't get my back-to-school voucher as the offer expired the previous day (20th).

Do you think this is right? When it says expires on the 21st I read that as being till the end of the 21st!?
