I will be buying a macbook pro next month and was discussing with my mom about the back to school sale.

She kept telling me I already have an ipod (classic) and why would I need another. I kept saying what's the big deal it's free;)

But then she said what about one of those new iphones, I told her you can only do it with Ipod touches and nanos.

I would love to get an iphone 3g as my first phone but, the sale is not for iphones

I told her I could sell it locally but, was wondering if I could get store credit at an Appple store if I return the Ipod touch to pay towards the iphone

the rebates are for the serial numbers of the ipod nanos and ipod touches

unfortunately you wont be able to get a credit.

just get the touch and sell it, that can be your own personal credit
