Back Up / Address Book Question

I just installed Panther after thinking I had backed up all my important documents. To my dismay I now realize that i should have exported my address book as v-cards. I did not do so but did manage to back up all the files that where in my user>library>address and user>library>application support>address book.

Any chance of recovering these files? Or are they lost for good?

have you tried throwing that whole old folder contents into the new folder?

I'm not sure which files are necessary, but that works with most programs.

it appears that Panther's address book doesnt have the same folders as Jaguars version, so there is no place to dump them into.
