hi folks
if i back up my iphone through itunes, and then erase all content and settings through the phone settings, would i get all my contacts and texts and everything else back except the jail broken apps and cydia???

I need to get rid of a cydia app but it wont let me remove the app through cydia itself.

please help

DO NOT HIT "ERASE ALL CONTENT AND SETTINGS," I repeat, do not use Erase All Content and Settings.

This is jailbreak info 101, it will mess up your phone.

To achieve what you want, back up your phone to iTunes, and then, in iTunes, select Restore and Restore as New. This will completey reinstall the stock software. Once that is completed, it will give you the option to restore from a backup, so at that point select your most recent backup and restore.

You will get everything that you previously had on your phone back but your phone will no longer be jailbroken (or have any of the jailbreak apps).
