hey guys, I've been thinking instead of downloading the movies I already have, I could just rip them unto my hard drive. I rip an uncompressed copy (usually a whopping 6 gigs) but the playback isn't as good as torrented copies. The video is jerky, and often grainy. I'm using MBP 2.4 GHz, 4 gb of memory. I thought maybe it was because I was trying to play it from my external HD, but it was also choppy when saved on the internal HD. is it because an exact dvd copy is too much information for my mac to process?:apple:

Weird. Which MBP do you have?? the i5 2.4 GHz or the C2D 2.4Ghz? But that doesnt matter. I play full DVD ripped on my C2D 2.4Ghz which are about 4.6gb off my external HD just fine. What kind of player are you using?

Oh and please dont pirate.

How did you rip it? It sounds like you just dragged files using Finder, which won't work; you need to strip the copy protection using something like MacTheRipper.
