Back up drive

Good Morning,

I keep all my media on a back up 500 gig drive and have gone back and forth between leaving it plugged in for quick access and ejecting it to keep it safe from mechanical failure etc. I would prefer to just leave it plugged in but wanted to get some other opinions.

I appreciate any feedback.

Save your ports, leave it plugged in.

i would just leave it plugged in. it would take a lot of time ejecting it and plugging it back in

I decided that since it is plugged into an external 7 port powered USB that I would just unplug that when I shut down to save wear and tear. I hope thats a good idea.
