Back up from time machine

My last iMac blew up a year ago. All my files are backed up on tc.
When I open tc on my new iMac I just see it not the old back ups. Where are they hiding?

Hold down the option key while you click the Time Machine icon on the menu bar then select "Browse other backups" and look for your old backup.
