Hi all,

Little sticky situation: I was on the midst of ordering iPhone 4s for myself and my mom. She is on my plan and I thought it would be a nice gift ;-).

However, in two weeks time she had two phones crapped out on her. And with the whole 3 weeks waiting time for the iPhone i need some kind of stop-gap plan b/c the 2nd phone that broke was my old backup.

I was thinking of using a at&t go phone and transplant the sim from the broken one. Has anyone tried that?

The iPhone 4 uses a new Micro SIM. To use it in a prepaid phone (which can be had for about $10 including shipping if you checkout places like dealnews.com for a refurbished one), you will also need to buy a Micro SIM adaptor. You should be able to get one for about $3 from Amazon or numerous other places online.
