I have been using the original iPad Pro from 2015 to use the ForScore app. Using ForScore's utility app I have successfully backed up all the scores/sheet music to my mid 2014 Macbook Pro 15 inch. I need to get these scores/sheet music onto my iPad Pro 2018 (3rd Generation). How would I connect the 3rd generation iPad Pro to the Mid 2014 MacBook to transfer the sheet music to the iPad?

I also own 2021 Macbook Pro 14-inch if that could be of use for this.

Thank you

Can you use iCloud for this? If you use the Files app on the ipads, or Finder on the Mac, you should be able to copy and read files to iCloud. Files and Finder should both have an area called iCloud Drive.

I have a feeling the file size is too big. Don't think I can archive on the particular app via the Cloud anyway. Also, my iCloud is full and needs either more money or a clean up.

Just buy either a usb c stick or external hard drive. Copy the files onto the media and transfer to the iPad.

that makes plenty of sense, thank you. With all the different iPads and Computers should I invest in a Dongle? If so, any brand recommendations?

If you only intend to use the one method of adding files (USB C) then no dongle required. Just make sure the USB C stick or external drive is USB C so it can connect directly to your iPad. Once connected open up the Files App and you will notice on the left hand side where it says Locations the external stick/drive will show up.

The only other time you need to purchase an add on as in a Hub is if you wish to attach either more than one device to your iPad or it is not USB C compliant. There are many many hubs available and have differing methods of connectors. Here is an example of one such from a very good manufacturer. https://amzn.eu/d/eQs38Jl
