So I saw the "Buy Mac now, upgrade to OS X Lion free" deal. So then I was like "Let's order the Macbook Pro NOW!!!!"

But then I rememebered that there is Back2School promotion.

1. When is the B2S promotion going to start?

2. Free iPod touch comes with usually right?

3. Do you have to be going to college or something for this deal

I never got mac before So I was wondering

The back to school promotion usually starts late july early august. There has been free ipods with them in the past. I think that they have done a few things other than that before. What grade are you going into (or college)? I would wait for the back to school promotion because it helped me when I did it.

I had understood that it started around the beginning of June on previous years.

What is the lowest level of educational institution that is applicable for this
From: Back to School - Apple (pdf)
EDUCATION INDIVIDUAL PURCHASE QUALIFICATIONS: Those eligible to purchase as Education Individuals include faculty, staff, students, and parents as follows:

K–12: Any employee of a public or private K–12 institution in the United States is eligible. In addition, school board members who are currently serving as elected or appointed members are eligible. PTA or PTO executives currently serving as elected or appointed officers are eligible.

Higher Education: Faculty and staff of higher education institutions; and students attending, or accepted into a higher education institution, are eligible.

Higher Education Parents: Parents purchasing on behalf of their child, who is a student currently attending or accepted into a public or private higher education institution in the United States, are eligible.

Do you personally pay to go to your public schooling? At the tune of thousands/tens of thousands of dollars a year? Didn't think so. That is why college students get a discount and not k-12 students

? I am not  without knowing this you know :mad::mad:

Man Well I Guess I Will get Mac Now

(Does anyone thing MacBook Pro might get a minor spec bump soon?)

you sound too young to be on this forum. trollin

Right now it might sound like this but.................I am just expressing my disappointment that I am not legible for the Back2School Promotion deal

*This thread is done with it's purpose.*

Ditto.

I'd like to see his rage when he's got thousands of dollars to pay for tuition on top of other living expenses.

If I only some of us were so lucky to go to school for free and live with mommy and daddy.

I think there is a bit of misinformation on this page.

The " Back To School Free iPod " promotion if they have one is not tied to " Education Pricing ".

Certainly for must be qualified for the Education Pricing, but as I recall not for the " Free iPod Touch - Back To School " promotion.

When I did it the last time, I just bought the MBP, and iPod Touch and they rebate by check mailed to you the cost of the iPod.

They never asked if I was a student or not.

I admit it has been a few years since I participated and Apple may have changed it since then, but until it starts I guess we really won't know for certain.

My question is can you get the education pricing discount and the free ipod touch from the back to school promotion?

I believe the answer to that is YES, so long as you are qualified for the discount.

ALSO the iPod and new computer have to be purchased at the same time on the same receipt to get that rebate.

For what its worth op, Id rather eat the 50 or 100 dollar discount apple gives and not have school expenses then get the discount and have them!

Ok thanks, hopefully that's the case because that would leave me with even more money before entering college.

Damn it. The back-to-school promo never even crossed my mind. I'm a college student and I just bought my MBP in April. *headsmack* But mine was a custom built online, so are customs even elegible?

How many more angry emoticons can you squeeze into your post?
