backed up 1.1.4 to case fresh 2.0....

How will that work?

If you sync and back up your 1.1.4 iPhone tonight and get the 3g iPhone which has 2.0 already installed on it tomorrow but want to sync all your backed up info from the 1.1.4 phone, won't that climb the phone back to 1.1.4??

Or will iTunes 7.7 not allow the 3g phone ot get back any farther then 2.0?

AFAIK the phone backup backs up settings and data, not firmware. The firmware is stored in a different location on your hard drive.
So when you plug in your new 3G, it'll restore settings and data and leave your firmware alone.
