Background App Refresh on my iPhone 6 had Google Maps. It was the only app at the time I had enabled for refresh.

This morning I went into the settings and Google Maps was missing as an option. I rebooted, hard reset, deleted/reinstalled Google Maps, still missing from App Refresh.

I did a DFU reset, full OS reinstall, still missing.

Any ideas?

Apps only appear in that list if they request the ability to use background refresh. It may be that Google maps no longer requests this. I just double checked and Google maps doesn't appear there for me either.

Just checked on my 5S and it's not there either.

A full OS reinstall, you trolling brah?

What were you trying to fix?

Not trolling. Google Maps option showed up on the App Background Refresh list yesterday, it didn't today. Seemed like a problem.

Also my Battery Usage and Standby information which was populated this morning became blank this afternoon. Stopped by the Apple store, they said to wipe the phone and restore. Did that, Usage and Standby still blank, but since the phone was reset hoping it comes back after the battery is fully charged.

Last issue is Settings crashes constantly. I'd estimate 15-20 times in 2 days. Only had 1 other app crash so issue seems to be with Settings. Sometimes it crashes back to home screen soon as I launch it, other times after navigating through it for a bit. DFU reset didn't fix it.

One other question: I have photos disabled in iCloud Sync, photo stream and everywhere else, so why does the Photos app keep asking me to enable Cellular Data for photos? Why even give an option to disable it if the app keeps asking me to turn it on over and over?

Brett, thanks for confirming you're not seeing Google Maps in your Background Refresh settings.
