Will it ever come? and...

Is it plausible that once apple releases its cloud in the sky to handle background notification to 3rd party apps, it will also fix the drain on the resident Contacts/Mail Apps as well? i.e Supreme battery life with push actually enabled?

P.S. Right now I have my iPhone 3G white set to Fetch Hourly and the battery life rivals that of my old iPhone, I also keep wifi off unless im going to be using it. Bluetooth is always on.

Looking forward to the discussion, Thanks.

It really suprises me that noone is interested in discussing this topic, it is one of the most highly touted features that was promised and has not yet been delivered.
