Hi folks:

I am a bit of security nut so all my machines have passwords and such on them. On my new iMac, I have it set up with a password. Since I have imported my several CDs worth of photos into iPhoto, I have some custom desktop wallpaper of my little fellow playing outside. However, I notice that whenever I get to the login screen on Leopard, it always displays that purple 'space' picture instead of whatever is on my desktop. Is there any way to change the desktop background for the login screen?

I know that some like the purple 'space' background but I think it is horrible.

I agree the aurora picture is awful. You can replace it by putting your own picture with the name DefaultDesktop.jpg in HD > System > Library > Core Services. Since this is the System's Library, you will need to enter your admin password. Don't do anything else in this folder unless you really know what you're doing.

I replaced my default picture with this:
