I installed a WD external drive unto my iMac running leopard and it has stopped working after a few days. Thats another story but I also installed its Mac backup software. I have since deleted that software but something remains.

There is an item in the menu bard next to the start up items that calls itself a background service, it sits close to the bluetooth, 802.11 and 360 connect icons up there. It did not go away with the deinstall of Western Digital Anywhere backup that I did.

Any thoughts on how to get rid of it? I am trying to find the WD tools CD without luck and WD's support site is awful. It even told me that my registered serial number is an actually an internal disk drive and not an external one, so it will not allow me to download the tools for the external.

So once again any thoughts on taking that "background service" icon down?

Thanks
