I would like to know if it is possible to back-up the entire contents of my main HD onto the 2nd HD of my PowerMac 2.0ghz, so in the event of the first HD crashing I can immediately start up my computer on the 2nd HD. And if possible, is it difficult to do?

Thanks so much.

What you are talking about is called RAID 1.

As most macs only support RAID 5 or RAID 0. I am not certain you will be able to achieve this with a stock motherboard.

Either way that is the feature you are looking for in-order to make this happen.

You may be able to synthesize this with software if your Motherboard Lacks RAID 1 capabilities.

Of course you could always just use the second drive with Time Machine and use software restore when the stuff hits the fan.
