How do I back up a Time Machine drive to another drive?
Apparently it's not a matter of copying files over like with any other drive.
I'm asking because a Mac Mini has died (the internal HDD appears to be failing/just about to die completely). Fortunately we have recent Time Machine backups (an external USB drive which has been permanently conected to the Mini), and now I'd like to make an additional backup of that drive on to some other hard drive just in case something happens to the Time Machine drive). And when we get a new drive (probably an SSD) for the Mini I want to restore it from either (I suppose I have to reinstall MacOS itself from scratch first).
I've tried copying using Chronosync as well as the Finder, but nothing works.
