I have a bunch of software boxes cluttering up my office and I was going to stick all of them in the basement in storage, but I was wondering first if it's possible to make bootable disc images that I could keep stored on my external harddrive in case I need any of the discs? I just don't want all the clutter in here and I don't want to have to go dig through the boxes in the basement either. Thanks for your help! :)

Do you really want bootable disk images? If all you need is a copy of the (presumably) software CDs then you can do this with the disk utility (in Applications/Utilities). You can create a disk image of each CD on your hard disk and mount one when you need it.
