Backing Up DVDs??

New to most Apple applications and I was wondering what DVD rip software was the best for the MAC? I would like something simple and preferrablly that allows me to adjust the target file size so I can play the movies on my iPaq or my PSP. Any help would be great.

If you're wanting to play them on your portable devicies, try Handbrake. If you're wanting to backup a DVD to another DVD, use MacTheRipper. Both are free and quite simple to use.

<---New to macs....but using either handbreak or mac the ripper....does that allow to burn them as well if not what should i use on a mac to burn back ups to dvd

Yes, you can burn them on discs using Handbrake.

I like Handbrake a lot and I'd recommend it.

Like many programs on my old windows computer....does handbrake ever make your computer lag or does it have anything that will harm my macbook in anyway???
