Backing up encrypted disk to encrypted disk image

I'm thinking about encrypting my hard disk with PGP Whole Disk.

To keep secure backups, I was thinking of backing up to an encrypted disk image on an external hard drive.

1. Does anybody know if Time Machine can back up to encrypted disk images? Anyone have any experience with it?

If I can't use Time Machine, I was thinking of using Super Dupe to back up to an encrypted disk image.

2. Does anybody know if Super Duper can back up to encrypted disk images? Anyone have any experience with it?
