Backing up iPhone 4 to DVD

Since purchase, iTunes has once prompted me to backup my iPhone 4 to DVD.

I'd like to backup my current "image" before updating to 4.1.

Is there a way for me to manually backup to DVD?

Here's where the backups are saved.
You can copy them to usb, or burn them on disc etc...

On Windows XP:
C\Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\

On Windows Vista and Windows 7:
C\Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\

Its a good idea to save backups on disks or usb drives incase something goes down.
