I'm planning on a clean install of Leopard to get rid of various bits of crud that I've picked up. The only things I need to back up are various items in my Documents and Pictures folders and the music on iTunes.

When transferring from Windows to Mac I lost play counts, ratings and some album art. Having got things up to date I'm a little paranoid about losing this information a second time. I have searched for info on this but have read conflicting details.

Am I right in thinking that I would need to back up and then copy into Leopard the following folders:

.../Music/iTunes
.../Library/iTunes

Many thanks

You should be fine by backing up the whole music folder. Playlists and playcount infos are stored in the library files inside the music folder.

Don't know about the other folder though; my Library/iTunes folder is completely empty.
