i have the "older" white macbook which has an XP partition on it too.
i'm meaning to install SL today since i have it sitting next to me. but first i want to backup my entire computer including XP. how do i go about doing this? if the installation messes up my XP partition somehow im screwed since i got XP years ago from my education institution and i can't get another key. so i want to pretty much ghost my entire drive. any software for this?

There are plenty of tools that will get the key out of your windows install.
Try Belmarc Advisor I think that does but if not a google will find dozens I"m sure.

yep that's not illegal or anything ;)

ended up using clonezilla to clone my entire drive onto an external 320gb drive via usb. then installed SL and all is good :)
