My wife and I have a total of three devices: a shared iPad and two iPhones. We have typically just backed up our devices to iCloud and called it a day however, the last time she had to do a restore, her entire backup was corrupted and it became a nightmare.
With that said, I'm looking to either migrate away from icloud backup and use iTunes (over Wi-Fi) or run both to have a second copy.
My question is, with the way apple works with iTunes libraries and contents, is there a way to "sync" or backup both devices to the same computer? I intend to setup a directory on our home server to be a backup repository for iOS devices. However, the last time I looked into this, I though a true backup requires the apps to actually be sync'd across the computer and iPhone otherwise the restore will not do the apps and data.
Any help or clarification on this is appreciated. I know I can backup each device, I just don't know how to do it to one computer, without mixing up the data between the two of them.
