backing up my macbook to upgrade to leopard.

Archive and install will keep all your data intact. You should have a backup, just in case.is there a relatively pain free way to upgrade to leopard without losing any of my data? I've never upgraded to another operating system before...i'm a bit scared of losing my stuff :/
