Backing up on iCloud

Got two questions I'd like an answer for:

1. If I use iCloud backup, does it count as part of the 5GB allotted by default?
2. If I set up an iCloud backup, will I still be able to sync with iTunes? (It says that my device will not sync automatically to iTunes, so I want to be sure).

1. Yes
2. Yes, you can still backup in iTunes manually, you just have to right click on your device and choose "back up".

I'm currently running iOS 5 beta 5 on an iPhone 4, if you have another questions.
